The oldest steam rally in Ireland where over 30 steam engines give working demonstrations and numerous family events are held including a carnival, trade stands and steam train rides. From 10am to 6pm, each day.

The National Steam Rally is the oldest steam rally in Ireland, with the first ever rally held in Stradbally, Laois in 1965. Steam enthusiasts and families from all over Ireland attend this premier event in the calendar of steam and vintage shows throughout Ireland.


Numerous vintage exhibits, as well as extra trade stands, cater for all types of visitors including auto-jumble, fashion, arts, crafts, jewellery and much more. Other events include working demos from over 30 steam engines, a carnival and steam train rides. An interesting addition this year will be loy digging, which is a form of manual ploughing which was used before and during famine times.

Facilities on-site include free car parking and picnic areas. From 10am to 6pm each day.
